Circle Graphs
LEARN
How do you read a circle graph?
The graph below is a circle graph.
It represents all (100%) of a set of data. The    sections, or wedges, show what part of the    whole each portion of the data represents.
The graph shows that more cheese pizzas    were made than any other kind because the    section for cheese is greater than
   any of the other sections.

If 100 pizzas were made, then
you could say that 50 pizzas
   with either pepperoni or
   cheese topping were made.
Pizza Toppings
 Talk About It
1. Which topping was used the least?
2. Number Sense Suppose 100 pizzas were made, and
45 were cheese and 35 were mushrooms. How many
of the 100 pizzas were either sausage or pepperoni?
Activity
How do you label a circle graph?
The circle graph shows how Sarah
spent one 24-hour period of time from midnight to midnight. She spent 2 hours eating, 10 hours sleeping, 6 hours at school, 2 hours doing homework, and 4 hours on other activities.
a. Copy and label the graph. (Hint:
Think about which activity took the most
time and which two activities took the
     same amount of time.
