Draw Conclusions
A conclusion is a decision you reach after you think
about facts and details.
Sometimes writers present facts and details and
then
draw conclusions for the reader. Sometimes
readers must
infer or draw their own conclusions
based on the facts.
Read the science article. Some facts and details are
highlighted in yellow. The conclusion is highlighted in blue.

Blood contains both red and white blood
cells. Both types are produced inside the
long bones.
Red blood cells carry oxygen
from the lungs to all parts of the body. White blood
cells protect the body by “eating” germs or by making
chemicals that kill germs. Red and white blood cells
are important parts of the circulatory system.
