Ask students to write a sign using at least five of the spelling words. The sign can be an advertisement, a warning, or a note for a friend.

REVIEW SHORT VOWELS VCCW
Have each student use spelling words to create a hidden word puzzle or a word scramble. They can exchange puzzles with a partner to review the spelling words.

Problem Parts
A word with a short vowel sound in the first syllable can often supply a clue that two consonants follow the short vowel. Have students pay attention to the first vowel sound to help spell words.
