Select a book you have already read. Record the title of the book in your reading log. You may want to read with a partner.

TEN IMPORTANT SENTENCES Read the Ten Important Sentences for What About Me? Then locate the sentences in the Student Edition.
BOOK CLUB Choose a book from your favorite author, illustrator, or genre. Write a short book review to share with classmates.

Create a picture dictionary for interesting words.
- Scan What About Me? to create a list of interesting words.
- Use a dictionary to find definitions.
- Create a picture dictionary that defines the words you found. Use drawings to show the meaning of as many words as you can.
- Share your completed picture dictionary with classmates.
EARLY FINISHERS Choose a word from your picture dictionary. Practice acting out the meaning of the word you chose. Be ready to perform your charade for classmates. Drama
Write a review of What About Me?
- Write a review telling what you thought about What About Me?. Remember to give reasons for your opinion.
- Finish your book review by writing whether or not you would recommend the story to others.
EARLY FINISHERS In your review, tell which story you liked better: Boom Town or What About Me? Why?

Make trading cards for toys.
- Choose three toys and make a trading card for each of the toys. Decide the value of each toy.
- Trade cards with each other. Make deals with each other based on the value of each toy.
- After trading is completed, discuss together how you gave values to the trading cards you made.
EARLY FINISHERS Make more trading cards and then rank the cards from least valuable to most valuable.

Look for proverbs on the Internet.
- Use a search engine to help you find Web sites with proverbs.
- Write down at least three proverbs. Be sure to name the Web site where you found each proverb.
- Explain what you think each proverb means.
- Draw a picture to accompany each proverb you select.
- Share your proverbs with your classmates.
