BOOK CLUB Look at "Meet Authors" on p. 408 of the Student Edition. Write a letter to Eve Bunting, telling her which of her books you have read and which ones you liked best.

How to Garden

Write instructions for the back of a seed packet.
  1. Read about how to grow a flower or other kind of plant.
  2. Write steps telling how to use seeds to grow the plant. Be sure to include directions for watering and feeding the plant after it has sprouted.
  3. Number your steps.
EARLY FINISHERS Make a seed packet out of paper. Draw a picture of the plant on the front and list your directions on the back.
