Reread for Fluency
MODEL Read aloud p. 8 of the Leveled Reader
Goldilocks and the Three Bears, emphasizing
accuracy and the appropriate pace. Have students
note the expression in your voice. Discuss how
reading with accuracy and appropriate pace, rate,
and expression helps a reader understand and
enjoy selections.
PRACTICE Have students reread passages from Goldilocks and the Three Bears with a partner or individually. For optimal fluency, they should reread
three or four times. As students read, monitor
fluency and provide corrective feedback. Students
in this group were assessed in Week 3.
