MODEL Read aloud p. 8 of the Leveled Reader Goldilocks and the Three Bears, emphasizing accuracy and the appropriate pace. Have students note the expression in your voice. Discuss how reading with accuracy and appropriate pace, rate, and expression helps a reader understand and enjoy selections.
PRACTICE Have students reread passages from Goldilocks and the Three Bears with a partner or individually. For optimal fluency, they should reread three or four times. As students read, monitor fluency and provide corrective feedback. Students in this group were assessed in Week 3.
Revisit Leveled Reader A Fantastic Field Trip
RETELL Have students retell the Leveled Reader A Fantastic Field Trip.
CREATE A MURAL Have students complete their projects. You may wish to review their sources and see whether they need any additional supplies or resources. Have them meet with you to discuss their mural and decide on the best place to display it.
